The Rhodes University Library has just upgraded its management software system from Sierra to ALMA. As a result, there are a few notable changes that will affect you.

Firstly, the Library has started to use OpenAthens as the access management system for its e-resources. OpenAthens provides software which allows users to use a single username and password to access all of the Library’s subscribed content (online databases, journals and e-books). Authentication will be required both on and off campus.

Secondly, the Library’s searching interface has been upgraded. In the past Library users relied on two search tools (OPAC and Summon) on the Library’s website in order to find content. As a result of the upgrade users will now only have to rely on using a single search tool (Primo).
