Nicholene Nxumalo is a young and vibrant academic at Rhodes University who is also an emerging scholar of African Customary law and gender and the law. She completed her LLB and her LLM in Constitutional Litigation focusing on African customary law, at the University of Kwa Zulu-Natal. Previously she has taught at UKZN, Unisa and Nelson Mandela University. She has demonstrated a great passion for public interest matters, African feminism, African thought leadership, and recently the discourse of African Regional Law. Currently, she is reading for her PhD in African Customary Law at Rhodes University.
