Scikidz get their hands dirty

As part of Scifest Africa 2011, the Centre for Social Development (CSD) is hosting the Scikidz event which focuses specifically on the Early Childhood Development stage.

Preschools and crèches are invited to send their children to this event that has a multitude of activities aimed at exploration and discovery, and children have the opportunity to actively touch, push, pull, prod, listen, watch, squeeze, balance, feel and taste a multitude of apparatus.

This year, in conjunction with the theme “Science across cultures”, the children are also invited to help make a giant South African flag with their palm prints that will be used as part of the International Day parade hosted by the International Office on 20 May 2011.

The Scikidz events take place from 4 May until 10 May at various community halls around Grahamstown.
