The Lovedale Collection was first deposited in the Cory Library in 1961 by the Mission Council of the Free Church of Scotland. The Lovedale Collection offers a comprehensive coverage of the history of the Lovedale Missionary Institution including the Lovedale Press. Read more

Cory Library is the official custodian of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa archives. The archives include material relating to Methodism in Southern Africa and most of the material date back from as far as the early nineteenth century. Read more
Gold Fields CollectionThe Gold Fields Collection was presented to Rhodes University for the Cory Library by Gold Fields of South Africa Ltd.This collection was assembled from 1944 onwards by the firm as a Rhodes Memorial Library and Museum. Read more
Rhodes University Archives
The Rhodes University Archives is responsible for the preservation of the University’s institutional memory. The University Archives consist of University records of permanent historical value regardless of format. Read more
Sir George Cory Slides
The George Cory slide collection is part of Sir George Cory’s large and varied research collection that he donated to Rhodes University Library. 270 lantern glass slides were made to accompany his public lectures, on Eastern Cape history and the 1820 Settlers days of the Eastern Cape. Read more
Association of Round Tables of Southern Africa (ARTSA)
The Cory Library is the official custodian of the Association of Round Tables of Southern Africa (ARTSA) archives and has been receiving deposits of ARTSA archives since 1986. Read more
Grahamstown Training College Archive Collection
The Grahamstown Training College Archive Collection was deposited in the Cory Library in 1976/7 by the last Principal, Mrs BA Wright (nee Pilson), after the final closure of this educational institution in 1975. Read more
